Prof. Dr. Seppo Tella was a Full Professor of Foreign Language Education, Director of the Research Group for Foreign Language Education, and Vice Head of the Department of Teacher Education, University of Helsinki, Finland.

He has held different positions in dozens of international and national projects funded by the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the World Bank, the Academy of Finland, and so on.

He has acted as Member of the Editorial Board, Guest Editor, Editor-in-Chief, and Reviewer in several international and national journals. In addition, he has acted as an International Consultant, Expert, Senior Adviser, Observer, Team Leader and Specialist in Educational Policy, Teacher Education, Foreign Language Education, Multicultural Education, and Information and Communication Technologies in several countries, including Austria, Botswana, Bulgaria, Estonia, Nepal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Sweden.
