讲座内容简介:

Well-developed executive functions contribute strongly to a good and successful life. Executive functions serve the regulation of behavior when routine actions are not sufficient. Although the classification and structure of executive functions is still debated, working memory, inhibition and cognitive flexibility are commonly accepted as main components. Of particular importance is the ability to inhibit predominant but unwanted or detrimental response tendencies and replace them with more appropriate actions. Recently, a novel focus has been on so-called hot executive functions that concern affective and social aspects of behavior control. The quality of executive functions of an individual depends on many factors and brain systems. Impaired executive functions have been shown to contribute to many behavioral and psychological problems, e.g., drug dependency, overweight, and delinquency. Therefore, researchers have sought ways to improve executive functions by training procedures. The success of these approaches is very diverse; most successful are combinations of movement exercises and mindfulness.
